THE NON-LINEAR AND TIME-DEPENDENT RHEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTIC FOR A LDPE MELT AND ITS DESCRIPTION
The thixotropic experiments were carried out for a LDPE (PE-FSB-23DO22/Q200) melt. The results show that the LDPE melt has complex time-dependent viscoelastic properties. The stress geowth experiments show further that the shear stresS will descend with the development of time at a constant shear rate of 5 s-1.A transformation of Huang equation was used to describe the thixotropy loop
and the calculated values agree well with the experiment results. At the same time
it is noted that the parameters of the transformed Huang equation m not universal and cannot be used to characterize completely the viscoelastic properties of the LDPE melt. The stress relaxation after cessation of steady shear cannot be described by the transformed Huang equation.
