DETERMINATION OF ACTIVITY COEFFICIENTS OF TOLUENE AND n-DECANE AT INFINITE DILUTION IN POLYSTYRENE SOLUTIONS BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY METHOD
Activity coefficients of toluene and n-decane at infinite dilution in polystyrene solutions at 130°-200℃ are determined by GC method. For both systems at 130°-201℃
the relation between γ(0) and Z is: In γ(0) = a ln Z + c
where a≈-1. For φCH3-PSt system at 170°-201℃
we get: 1+x = 4.857/Z +0.7560
where x is the Flory-Huggins Parameter. The result shows that these two systems are nearly athermol solutions.
