A simplified differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) is described. Only two parts which are specific for DSC

ie. heat compensating circuit and sample holder were made by ourselves. Other parts of the instrument are all commercially available units. A sensitivity of 1 meal/sec

and the error in calorimetric determination of about ±5%

were attainable by means of a specific sample chamber design. The working temperature range is from -100℃ to 500℃. Typical diagrams which show the performance of the instrument are illustrated.
