STUDY ON COMPATIBILITY, PHASE INVERSION, PHYSICOMECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF EVA/PVC POLYBLEND
The effect of composition on the dynamic and macroscopic mechanical properties of EVA/PVC blends have been investigated. The results suggest that a semicompatibility exists between EVA (48 Wt% VAc) and PVC in the polyblend. The phase inversion occurs and over the range of EVA volume fractions from 18% to 80% both phase are co-continuous and where several properties will change very rapidly withcomposition. The calculated curve by using a combination of upper and lower bounds of Halpin-Tsai-Nielsen equation and logarithmic rule of mixtures fits the experimental data very well. The strengths reduce only slightly
