CATALYZED DEHYDROCHLORINATION OF POLY(VINYL CHLORIDE) BY QUATERNARY AMMONIUM SALTS IN SOLID PHASE
The effect of quantenary ammonium salts(QAS) on the reaction speed and structure of the product of dehydrochlorinated PVC (polyvinylchloride) and the relationship of dehydrochlo-rination reaction with temperature and time were studied by means of dehydrochlorination of PVC-QAS film in the solid phase. Butyl-ammonium salts (BAS) is found better than ethyl-ammonium salts (EAS) in catalytic property. As a result of experiments
the catalytic mechanism of the decomposition of QAS into tertiary amine was proposed.
