Atomic transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) was used for the preparation of an amphiphilic di-block copolymer——polystyrene-b-poly(acrylic acid) (PS-b-PAA).The structure and composition of the copolymer have been characterized carefully by 1H-NMR
IR and GPC In order to determine the critical concentration of polymeric micell formation (CMC) a dimethyl amino flavone derivative was used as a fluorescence probe for detection of the critical concentration of the copolymer in solutions.The morphology of polymeric micen formed was studied by electronic microscope.A clear transformation from nano-spherical to nano-wire has been observed.
