Building up the azo polydectrolyte (PEAPH)/PDAC self-assembled muhilayers was explored in N
N-dimethyl formamide (DMF)/H2O mixtures using the layer-by-layer electrostatic adsorption technique.The focus of studies was concentrated on the effect of the ratios of DMF to water in the mixtures on the growth.structure and surface morphology of the PEAPH/PDAC multilayere.Results show that DMF/H2O mixtures are ideal media for PEAPH/PDAC multilayer growth.The ratio of DMF to water in the mixture has significant influence on the muhilayer structure and surface morphology.With the increase of DMF content the multilayer thickness has better linear growth relationship with multilayer number and the muhilayer surface becomes snloother.As well.less azo chromophores exist in the H-aggregate style for multilayers fabricated from the DMF/H2 mixture with more DMF content.These studies demonstrate that it is an effective method to control the muhilayer construction by adjusting the medium properties and this method is useful for multilayer fabrication of water insoluble polyelectrolytes.
