Self-assembly inspired from nature has been regarded as an important areas of basic and applied research
and it was an interdisciplinary research field including chemistry
materials science
biomedical engineering etc. With the inspiration from viral capsids
researchers are expecting to fabricate the capsid-like architectures with the self-assembly learning from natural or artificial units and mimick the capsid functions. The peptide-based self-assemblies for mimicking viral capsids were highlighted in this review.Recent progresses on biomedical applications of self-assemblies mimicking viral capsids were reviewed.
