THE STATIC ADSORPTION OF HPAM ON POROUS MEDIA ——INFLUENCE OF HYDROLYSIS DEGREE ON THE QUANTITY OF ADSORBED HPAM
The relation between the quantity of adsorbed partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) on two porous media and the hydrolysis degree( HD ) of HPAM was studied. The saturation adsorptions ( Ad ) of HPAM on the montmorillonite and the kaolinite decrease with increasing HD up to about 25%
and reach a minimum at about 25~30% HD
but increase with increasing HD if HD %>30%. This result could be explained by the formation of the maximum intramolecular hydrogen bonding of HPAM with the HD in the range of 15~30%.
