The high electrical conductivity and stability of electrochemical oxidative polypyr-roles are potentially attractive systems.So far.the real chemical structure is still ob-scure to us.The chemical structure and electrical properties of polypyrroles prepared by elec-trcIchemical oxidation in different sollvents and supporting electrolytes with various elec-trodes have been observed.Structure charaeterization was done by IR.XPS,X-ray diffraction,elemental analysis and electron microscopy.The room temperature con-ductivities of the fi]ms inereased 10—20 times after exposure to air.The temperature dependenee of conductivity was measured byVSC method that showed the metMlie ehara-cter of the polymer.IR spectra showed no N-H absorption,bult CH2 absorption ap-peared.We suggest there are pyrrolidone end groups in the polymer chains,and bran-ching or crosslinking happend to the polymer.XPS of the films showed that the dis-tribution of positive charge of pyrrole ring are different between BF-4 doped and other anion doped samples.The films are amorphous with small degree of crastallinity.The films showed electric switching effect.
