An unzipping cyclization mechannizm of PAN was proposed. By this method heat stable fire retarding PANF as well as semiconductive and conductive fiber can be prepared. Furthermore
the PANF. treated by this method is so satble that good quality carbon fiber and conductive fiber can be rapidly produced in argon or in air.
