Polyimide(PI)/polyaniline (PANI) nanocomposites were prepared as a electromagnetic wave absorption material. Nano-PANI was synthesized with DBSA as the emulsifier and doping agent and APS as oxidant by a microemulsion method. On this basis
PAA/PANI composites were synthesized in NMP saturated solutions of PANI at room temperature
then PI/PANI composites were prepared through imidization. The crystallization of polymers was characterized by XRD
the intermediate and polymer were also characterized by FTIR spectroscopy. It was found that the PAn component spread as nano-sized islands in the PI matrix
and the two polymers retained their individual crystal structure in the composites. The loss performance of the composites was characterized by using a digital bridge and selfmade electrodes. When the content of PANI was up to 3.4 wt%
the dissipation factor of composites was obviously high than that of PI and increased proportional to frequency.
