In order to solve the problem of the dispersion of bamboo fiber
the preparation of the surface treated bamboo fiber and polypropylene composite was carried out in reference to the way of papermaking. The fracture surface of the composite was characterized by the scanning electron microscope. The result showed: the processes of papermaking method solved the problem of the dispersion of bamboo fiber in the composite
and obtained the uniform bamboo fiber distribution of the bamboo fiber/PP composite materials. The composites which contained 25 wt% bamboo fiber were autoclave-foamed in a batch process in supercritical CO2 according to the heterogeneous nucleation mechanism using supercritical CO2 as physical blowing agents
and the influences of the foam process conditions (such as saturated pressure
saturated time and saturated temperature) on the bubble pore parameters were discussed. Using a scanning microscope
the cell structures of the foaming samples were also investigated
the result indicated: the bamboo fiber had a great positive impact on improving the cell morphology and the cell density. There would be uniform cell size and distribution in the bamboo fiber/PP composite foams. When a minimum bubble diameter was 5.24 m
