and its procedure was described in detail. The effect of interfacial parameters
such as the slope k(N/m) and intercept b(N) of the function Fmax(le)
k′(N/m2) and b′(N/μm) of the function τIF(le)
on the micromechanics of micro\|composites was discussed. The experimental results showed that typical maximal force (Fmax) demonstrated excellently linear relationship with embedded length (le) in range of 55 and 75 μm when the stretching rate was 4 mm/min. However
the interfacial shear strength (τIF) showed hyperbolic relationship with the le
and eventually tended to a limited value (k′) along with increase of le. At the same time
the interfacial parameters
slope k (from 0.0033 to 00095 N/m) and intercept b (from -0.54 to -0.14 N)
were discussed respectively to reveal how these parameters affected the dispersion of theoretical curves. The bigger the value of k was
the faster the typical maximal force (Fmax) and the theoretical curve of the interfacial shear strength (τIF) increased. Meanwhile
the bigger the value of b was
the bigger the value of typical maximal force (Fmax) and interfacial shear strength (τ IF) were. Finally
the effect of specimen geometry on the dispersion of experimental data was also discussed. The defects of different specimens actually caused stress concentration in the interface
which increased the dispersion of experimental curves.
