The solution behavior of a newly developed comb-like polymer-based dispersant was investigated by laser light scattering (LLS) with a focus on the conformation of the chain in solution.By static light scattering
reasonable parameters
such as weight-averaged molecular weight (Mw) and mean square radius of gyration (Rg2) were obtained.Furthermore
apparent intensity-weighted hydrodynamic radius distribution and its dependence on the concentration and scattering angle were investigated by dynamic light scattering.By comparing the results from LLS with the popular Gay-Raphae model of comb-like polymers
it is suggested that there might be aggregation behavior and the current comb-like polymers exist in solution as micellar aggregates.
