The cyclic voltammograms and AC impedance spectra of poly(methylene green) were investigated in the temperrature range of 10℃ to 60℃.The effect of temperature on the conductivity of the solution was determined. There are an anodic peak and a cathodic peak in the cyclic voltammogram of poly(methylene green) at various temperatures.Their peak currents increase with increasing temperature
which means that the reaction rate of the electrode increases with increasing temperature. The result from AC impedance plots shows that the charge transfer resistance/Rct increases with increasing temperature. The TG curve shows that the polymer was decomposed by three steps. The step at 263.1℃ corresponds to the polymer’s decomposition. The scanning electron micrograph of the surface of poly(methylene green) polymerized on platinum foil shows that the surface of poly(methylene green) is consisted of some particles.
