N-diethylacrylamide)(PNDEA)-clay hydrogels were prepared and compared with pure PNDEA samples.X-ray diffraction studies showed that the PDEA-clay hydrogels were nanocomposties.These composites exhibit some unusual enhanced characteristics.For hydrogels of crosslinked PNDEA with 10% clay their swelling ratio was as high as that of the uncrosslinked pure PNDEA samples
