(c) samples of luminescent Eu-containing copolymer (NaEu(Ⅲ)-TTA-PSAA) was synthesized through the reaction of copolymer of acrylic acid and styrene (PSAA
Mw=3000) with metalorganic complex(NaEu(TTA)4)
which was obtained between Eu and thienyltrifluroacetone.These samples of coordination polymers were characterized by FT-IR
UV
XPS and DTA-TG
and its composition and their structure were determinated. The result of electrical conductivity methods and elemental analysis indicated that there were different compositions and structures of these coordination polymers in different pH.The results of elemental analysis show that the content of Eu3+ in sample (a)
(b)
(c) was 11.89%
12.55% and 13.41% respectively.It was ascertained in these coordination polymers each Eu3+ is coordinated by TTA- ion and carboxyl in the PSAA molecule
making these coordination polymers cross-link further.As a result
these coordination polymers
which are insoluble in most orgainc solvents and higher thermal resistance
are brown solids.But it can he soluble in N
N-dimethylformamide and the mixed solvent of glycerol alcohol and isopropanol.The coordination polymer exhibited intense red light at 615 nm under UV excitation at room temperature
which is attributed to the 5D0→7F2 transition of Eu(Ⅲ) ions.The effects of solvents and pH on the fluorescence intensity were investigated.The fluorescence spectrum indicated that the coordination polymer has good fluorescence properties as pH=10.0.
