2-dibromoethane and thiophenol as two initial chemicals
phenyl vinyl sulfoxide(PVSO) was synthesized through substitution of thiophenol
elimination of phenyl 2-bromoethyl sulfide and partial oxidation of phenyl vinyl sulfide. The anionic polymerizations of PVSO were carried out with different naphthalene-alkaline metal initiators in THF at-78℃ under inert atomosphere. With succinic anhydride as the terminator
monodispersed telechelic polymers of PPVSO with different molecular weight were obtained. The functionality of PPVSO was determined by the methods of FTIR and titration and its value is more than 1.60.The thermal elimination of PPVSO under vacuum resulted in monodispersed telechelic polyacetylene with metal alkaline carboxylate as end groups.PPVSO WaS converted to poly(phenyl vinyl sulfone) by further oxidation.
