The AB3 type monomer was synthesized by use of succinic anhydride and tri(hydroxymethyl)-aminomethane under the condition of ice-bath．The polymerization was performed at different temperatures

and the analysis techniques FTIR

viscosity and end-grous were used to characterize the products

which have hydroxyl end-groups at the chain extremities．The reaction kinetics was examined to give the reaction rate constant at 130℃

140℃ and 150℃

respectively

and then the activation energy was obtained．The results showed that the synthesis route was practicable without gelation

and the polymerization process was self-catalytic

and the reaction was a third order.
