Tremolite as a filling material influences the properties of epoxy matrix Before making composites
the tremolite was treated with cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide The composite was first prepared with organic tremolite.epoxy CYD-128 and curing agents The changes of surface properties of organic tremolite were investigated using FT-IR.The impact strength.bend strength and bend modulus of tremolite/epoxy composites were studied with the tremolite content varied from 1% to 8% by mass The fracture morphology of the impact specimens was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM)
and the tremolite dispersion was observed with tunnel electron microscope (TFM).The investigation of the thermo-mechanical behavior was performed by dynamic-mechanic thermal analysis (DMA).As a result
when tremolite was installed
the bend strength increased by 100% up to 118 MPa compared with the neat epoxy. The bend modulus increased from 3100 GPa to 4100 GPa The impact strength increased by 200% up to 13 kJ/m2 compared with the neat epoxy Significant improvements in the mechanical properties of the resulting composites were illustrated in the storage modulus. From the surface analysis
it was found that surface was organic Tremolite was dispersed well in epoxy matrix as fiber state
so it enhances the mechanical properties of epoxy matrix.
