The selective laser sintering (SLS) was applied to prepare PAl2/rectorite nanocomposites with blended powders of PAl2 and organic rectorite．Using this technique

the preparation of nanoeomposites and the moulding process are implemented simultaneously．The structure of PAl2/rectofite nanocomposites was characterized by XRD

FT-IR and SEM

and their thermal stability and mechanical properties were also studied The results showed that the organic reetorite was intercalated by PAl2 during the sintering process

and the thermal stability and the mechanical properties such as the tensile strength

flexural strength and impact strength of the PAl2/rectorite nanocomposites weIe better than those of sintered pure PAl2.
