were used as raw materials for the preparation of gelatin/hydroxyapatite composites by simultaneous titration method
and then the tensile properties for dryfilms of the three composites
includingtensile strength
Young’ modulus and elongation at break
were measured and compared.The results showed that all of the three tensile parameters increased with increasing the α component content of gelatins.Among them
the Young’s modulus of composites was more sensitive to the α component content of gelatins.The mechanical properties of composite C with the hishest α component content were shown as follows:86.40 MPa of tensile strength.2682.35 MPa of Young’s modulus and 8.65%of elongation at break.In addition
the characterization results of basic properties of composite C revealed that this material had the composition and structure similar to those of natural bones
and therefore was promising to be a good candidate for bone substitute materials.
