Several PVC/ultrafine vulcanized powdered nitrile rubber (NBR-UFPR) binary composites and PVC/NBR-UFPR/nano-CaCO3 ternary composites were prepared.TEM images showed that three kinds of NBR-UFPRs
P-248 (about 150 nm
33%AN)
P-6387 (about 90 nm
33%AN) and P-26 (about 70 nm
26%AN)
were dispersed well in PVC matrix.Those NBR-UFPRs can increase the toughness
heat resistance and thermal stability of PVC/NBR-UFPR binary composites simultaneously.At the same time
it was found that the addition of CaCO3 nanoparticles (40 nm) can further increase the toughness
heat resistance and thermal stability of PVC/NBR-UFPR/nano-CaCO3 ternary composites
and TEM images showed that the distance between two particles (PVC ligament thickness) become shorter.It was discussed why the toughness
heat resistance and thermal stability of PVC composites can be improved simultaneously.
