2-propanediolcyclic carbonate(BPC)
was synthesized by reaction of bis(trichdomethyl)carbonate (BTC)with 3-phenylmethoxymethly-1
2-propanediol
which was easily obtained from the reaction of 3-chloro-1
2- propanediol and sodium phenylmethanolate.Homo—and copolymerlzation of BPC was carried out in bulk using stannous octanoate as a catalyst under different conditions.The properties of the BPC hornopolymers and copolymers with lactide were studied.The copolymerization of BPC and DL—lactide was successfully carried out.The resulting polymer was deprotected by Pd/C catalytic hydrogenation.The hydrophilicity of the deprotected copolymers demonstrated by water contact angle measurements was greatly improved.
