The quantitative relation between notched impact strength and fractured surfaceroughness of polymer materials at different testing temperature was investigated withdifferent polymer. The resultsshow thatthe notched impactstrength σi of polymer materialsincreasedlinearly with theincrease offractured surface roughness parameter Rs in the case ofbrittle fracture atlowertesting temperature . Butthe variation ofimpact strength depends onboth Rs and the plastic deformation area in the case of ductile fracture at higher testing temperature.The relation between σi and Rs at higher testing temperature could be divided into three models according to different polymer materials and ther fracture mechanism.
