maleic anhydride (MAH) and vinyl acetate (VAc) were used as co-monomers in the solid grafting process of polypropylene (PP) The high graft ratio of both VAc and MAH were obtained when the initial mole ratio of MAH/VAC approaches l:1.The reaction mechanism was that molecules of these two monomers could form a stable transition state during the graft polymerization process
and then the reaction activity of both molecules was enhanced. At the same time
the product’s melt flow rate (MFR) was decreased with the increase of VAc’s dosage. This multifunctional PP containing anhydride groups and ester groups at the same time can widen PP’S application area and will promote the realization of novel PP blends.
