hermotropic liquid crystalline copolyesters were synthsized from his(4-hydroxyphenyl) methanone (BHP)
tereplithalic acid (TPA)
p-hydroxybenzoic acid (PHB) and dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone(DPS). The properties of the copolyesters were characterized by polarized microscope with a hot stage
wide angle X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. The results show that the copolyesters containing the BHP exhibit nematic liquid crystallinity.
