6-Tetramethyl-4-piperidinylmethacrylate was prepared by ester-exchange reaction between 2

6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinol and methylmethacrylate. The resulting ester was copolymerized with styrene
and the copolymer was blended with polypropylene in quantities of 1.5-5%. The polyblends thus obtained were spun into fibers with a tenacity of about 4g/d. The modified fibers have a good resistance to weathering
and good dyeing ability with azo-type dispersive dyes. At the same time the spinning temperature of the polyblends was lowered to around 280℃.
