the fluorescence quenching of two copolymers of styrene having electron -- donating chromophore--moiety
i. e. poly(styrene -- co -- N' -- vinylmethylene-- N
N -- dimethyl -- 1
4 -- benzenediamine ) andpoly (styrene-- co -- N -- dimethylaminophenyl maleimide) by C60 is reported. It was found that C60 could also act as a quencher to the fluorescence of these copolymers. Having no distinct curvatures in the Stern- Volmer plot indicated that there was no ground state charge transfer complex formed
and the photo-induced charge transfer was resulted between C60 and the electron-donating copolymer.
