Titanium β diketonate complexes in combination with methylaluminoxane (MAO) as cocatalyst are highly active towards styrene polymerization
giving polymers with high sydiotacticity and high molecular weights. The results of polymerization showed that the catalytic activity of dibenzoylmethane complexes/MAO is higher than that of acetylacetone complexes/MAO
molecular weight and syndiotacticity of polymers from the former is lower than that from the latter. The molecular weight distribution of polymers is broader
indicating the titanium β-diketonate complexes may be a "multi-site"catalyst.
