Macro-porous chelate resins of polyvinylbenzylthiourea (or thiourea resin TUE) with higher adsorption capacity for Au3+ have been prepared. After swelling in 1
4-di-oxane the macro-porous crosslinked chloromethylated polystyrene beads were treated with saturated alcoholic solution of thiourea
the obtained TUR with 98.8% conversion of functional group. The adsorption capacity of TUR
for Au3+ is equal to 819 mg Δu3+/g resin (4.16 mmol Au3+/g resin.) under the best condition
