The copolymer emulsion of acrylates with glycidyl methacrylate active monomer was prepared by semi -continuous seed emulsion copolymerization to four component copolymer;the copolymer emulsion was characterized by means of TEM
stability
rheological properties etc.
The effect of glycidyl methacrylate(GMA) and its content onthe properties of copolymer emulsion and copolymer films was studied;the self-crosslinking property was investigated by DSC.It has been found that the morphology of copolymer emulsion particle showed core-shell structure
and there is streaky transitive layer between core and shell;thus
the functional groups were at the surface layer of particles as far as possible to make the crosslinking effect of DSC;the srability of electrolyte-resisting and centrifugal stability were decreased with the increase of glycidyl methacrylate content. The electrical conductivity was decreased with the increase of glycidyl methacrylate also. The copolymer emulsion showed non-Newtonian flow behavior and it bears the characteristic of dilatant fluid. The apparent viscosity of copolymer emulsion was increased with the increase of shear stress moreover
the content of GMA affects the apparent viscosity.
