The goal of this work was to reveal the factors which influenced the adsorption properties of hypercrosslinked polystyrene adsorbents. For this study the process of Friedel- Crafts postcrosslinking of chloro-methylated ploystyrene

and their pore structyures and adsorption properties were investigated . The results showed that their adsorption for phenol increased to the maximum and then decreased though their specific surface area and pore volume decreased with the increase fo the amount of toluene added. This suggests that the adsorption properties of hypercrosslinked polystyrene adsorbents were influenced by both pore structures and skeleton structure of them.
