Polyepichlorohydrin - based polyurethane / poly (methyl methacrylate)interpenetrating polymer networks (PU(PECH) /PMMA IPNs) was synthesized by simultaneous method. A series of polymer alloys
such as elastomer
reinforcedelastomer
toughened plastics
brittle plastics
were easily obtained by adjusting the component ratio of the IPNs. The compatibility of the IPNs was studied by DSC
dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and TEM. The results show that the tWo compo-nents in the IPNs are completely compatible. Meanwhile
the stress-strain behaviour of the IPNs with different component ratio were measured and explained by compatible morphological.structure in which there are a lot of interpenetration and entanglement.SEM was used to observe the fracture surface of different samples.
