Caprolactam can be polymerized to a high elongation nylon-6 by alkaline catalyst
without ther use of activator. The polymerization can take place even when the temperature is lower than 220℃ or as low as 160℃. The effect of the polymerization temperature on the properties of the formed polymer has been investigated. The optimum condition of polymerization temperature is around 200℃.
