The binary interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) of polyacrylate and epoxy were synthesized simultaneously
and the polyacrylate network and the epoxy network were prepared by the preswollen method. The dynamic mechanical properties of the PEGDA/EPO IPNs with various composition ratios and the preswollen “pure” component networks were characterized by means of viscoelastic analyzer. From the rubber elastic theorical point of view
the relation between the modulus of the PEGDA/EPO IPNs and that of the PEGDA and EPO preswollen networks were discussed. It refered that the interpenetrating or mutual entanglements between the two component networks increased the effective"cross-link density"
which contributed to the increased modulus of the IPNs.The measurements of the densities of the PEGDA/EPO IPNs implied the same facts also.
