series of wholly aromatic thermotropic liquid crystalline copolyesters was synthesized from his (4-hydroxyphenyl) methanone
terephthalic acid
p-hydroxybenzoic acid and resorcinol via melt polycondensation and solid state polyinerization process. Under polarizing microscope with hote stage
the transition process
birefringent phenomenon and textures of samples were observed. From DSC trace
the relationship of Tg and Tm vs. monomer component were studid. WAXDmeasurements revealed that reflections at 20 = 20°and 24°were observable.All results showed that the copolyesters possessed properties of nematic random copolyesters.
