The morphology of copolymers of acrylamide and ammonium-2-acrylamidohexadecane (AM/AMCi16SNH4) has been studied by TEM. The copolymer molecule in water is extended to form filamentous structure. Aqueous solutions of the copolymers showed much better viscosity retention in salt solutions
temperature and aging stability than those of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamides.
